He had just woken up to find some animals tugging away at the remnants of his clothes, his underpants. He found that the ocean waters had tossed him upon a white sandy beach front with tall green palm trees ahead as the beach climbed the shore and a deep jungle that followed. Even now he could hear the call of excited tree monkeys, the innumerable birds that were celebrating life.
It was just a few days back that he had wept as he held onto his promotion letter, like one holds onto a glass of water after having traveled in the hot Sahara Desert without water for several days.
But why?
Because, he had lost everything in life that was valuable. Because his luck had never seemed to favor him over the past several years. Then he got this job and he was so enjoying the success and the adulation! He was feeling secure and stable, finally!
Then the meeting between the two companies happened. He was returning back to the mainland after the meeting. But the boat sank!
And now, here he was , fate had taken away the wee bit of success that life had offered him! He was on an unknown, wild island!
