He wept as he held onto his promotion letter, like one holds onto a glass of water after having traveled in the hot Sahara Desert without water for several days.
He had lost everything in life that was valuable because his luck never seemed to favor him over past several years. Then he got this job and he was so enjoying the success and the adulation! He was feeling secure and stable, finally!
